Amanda Sparrow was born in Kentucky, Sept. 4, 1850 and died in Chicago, Ill., August 10, 1914, aged 63 years, 11 months and 6 days. When a child of four years she came to Wisconsin and settled in Darlington, where she grew to womanhood. On Nov. 28, 1873, she was united in marriage to Henry Curry. There were born to this union four children, William of Darlington, Irving of Chicago, Mrs. Wm. Noble of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Harry who died at the age of nine years.
When a young woman she united with the Methodist Episcopal church of Darlington and remained a faithful and consistent member until her death.
Funeral services were held for her at the church on August 11 at 2 pm Rev. H.E. Wright conducting the service. The Relief Corps and the Royal Neighbors conducted their respective rites over the body, the one at the home and the other at the church.
