Ineva Covington, 80.l a resident of the Apple House in Georgetown, formerly of Interlachen, died Friday, November 22, 2002 at Putnam Community Medical Center.
She was a native of Coffee County, Ga., and had been living here for the past 29 years, coming from Miami. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Congregational Church in Interlachen where she served as a deaconess. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hawthorne Chapter #52, the Interlachen Senior Citizens and the Interlachen Tourist Club. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting and sewing. She loved people.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David M. Covington, Jr.; her parents, James and Myrtice Taylor; a brother, Trenton Taylor; and a sister, Mamie Lee Smith.
Surviving are sons and a daughter-in-law, James C. and Mary Woods, Rockland; Maine and Wayne A. Woods, Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Hazel E. and Robert Cribbs, Ducktown, Tenn.; brothers, Edison Taylor, Waycross, Ga.; Edward Taylor, Palatka; Eugene Taylor, Waycross, Ga.; and Herbert Taylor, Brunswick, Ga.; sisters, Juanita Thomas, Waycross Ga.; Betty Johnson, Palatka; Morelle Huey, Opalatka, Ala.; and Kathleen King, Alma, Ga.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial gifts may be sent to Putnam County Alzheimer Association, P.O. Box 127, Hollister, FL 32147.
The family received friends Sunday evening.
Funeral service was held 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25 in the chapel of Masters Funeral Home, Palatka with the Rev. Gordon Falknor and the Rev. Ervin Joslin officiating.
Interment followed in Palatka Memorial Gardens.
