Henry Sanford Jaques
Henry Sanford Jaques, youngest son of Sanford and Elizabeth Jaques was born near Leesville, Ohio, February 23rd, 1839. He came to Peoria County, Illinois when ten years of age and had live in this county most of his life.
He was married to Mrs. Emma Pratz Winchester, June 15th, 1874. Four children were born to them.
His wife departed life April 29, 1909.
Mr. Jaques united with the Methodist church in Elmore in the early 80's, was active in its affairs and remained an earnest Christian till the end.
He passed away in Peoria, Aug. 22, 1916 at the age of 77 years and six months.
He was the last member of his father's family. He is survived by his four children, Mrs. Ada Willard of Princeville, Jonathan Jaques of Milin, Oregon, Mrs. Minnie Malone of Peru, Neb. Ten grand children also survive him.
The funeral service was held last Thursday afternoon at the Elmore M. E. church. Rev Stanley Ward conducted the service. Many relatives and friends were present. The interment was in the Elmore cemetery.
