Eliza Margaret Bandy Sparks, age 95 of Bandy, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at a Richlands hospital. She was the daughter of the late Newt and Maude Creed Bandy. She was a member of the Bandy Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the Willing Workers. She retired from Tazewell County Schools working at Bandy, Rivermont and Cedar Bluff Elementary schools. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and was loved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willart Sparks; son, Joe Sparks; sister, Uva Sparks; brothers, Herbert, Arvis, Denzil, Bob, Ell, Dent, Sidney, and two infant brothers.

She is survived by daughters, Loretta Kay and husband Bill and Patty Cochran and husband John; sons, Ray Sparks and wife Joan and John Sparks all of Bandy, VA; daughter-in-law, Ruby Sparks of Jewell Ridge, VA; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Margaret Bandy, Pansy Bandy, Darlis Bandy, Romia Whitt and Pheobe Ball and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 8, 2013 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Rev. Sam Altizer, Marvin Nipper and Rev. Danny Starling officiating. Burial will follow in the Sparks Cemetery at Bandy, Virginia. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 P.M. Thursday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
