The funeral for Neva Wood Morrison, 89, formerly of 715 Forest St., Martinsville, who died Sept. 7, 2011, at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home. Pastor Jimmy Wood will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born March 10, 1922, in Hiwassee, Ga., to Hubbert "Hub" and Bertha Kimsey Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Morrison; two daughters, Ann Stewart and Janice Woody; and four sisters, Bonnie Howington, Opal Miller, Ann Worley and Evelyn Wilborne.
She had worked in the packing room at Bassett-Walker, and she was a member of the Church at Mercy Crossing.
Surviving are two sons, Norris Allen and Kimsey Allen, both of Commerce, Ga.; a sister, Sue Lester of Thomasville, N.C.; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1079 Spruce St., Martinsville, Va. 24112.
