MRS. GEORGE JOHNSON DIES

Mrs. George Johnson, who lived with her daughter, Mrs. P. W. (Helen) Reser, 1520 Center St., died Sunday afternoon in St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel, conducted by the Rev. E. A. Troyer, pastor of the First Church of God, and burial will be held in Maplewood Cemetery.

Mattie Anderson, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Finnell Anderson, was born Dec. 23rd, 1885, in Plymouth, and she married Thomas Arzberger June 23rd, 1904, in Emporia. He died Oct. 4th, 1919. She later married George Johnson and he died Oct. 19th, 1942. She is survived by two sons, Charles Arzberger, Cuba, N.Y., and Raymond Arzberger, Edwardsville; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy (Andrew) Kyle, 874 West Fifth Ave., Mrs. Reser, and Anna Mae Clapper, Corona, Calif.; ten grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Willey, Clair, and Henry, and three sisters, Annie Blackburn, Fannie Burden, and Edna Anderson.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the First Church of God.

JOHNSON SERVICES HELD

Funeral services for Mrs. George Johnson, 1520 Center Street, who died Sunday in St. Mary's Hospital, were held Thursday afternoon in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel. They were conducted by the Rv. (sic) E. A. Troyer, pastor of the First Church of God. The soloist was Trevor Lewis, the organist was Mrs. Robert Plummer, and the pallbearers, all grandsons, were Donald R., Thomas A., and Richard W. Kyle, Larry Reser, Larry G. Myers, and Rodney E. Pierce. Personnel and employes (sic) in St. Mary's hospital attended in a group. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.

Relatives who attended from out of town were Raymond Arzberger, Edwardsville; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Arzberger, Cuba, N.Y.; Edward L. Kuykendall and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Troutman, Kansas City, Kan.; Joan Atchison, Glendale, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Reser, San Antonio, Tex.; Messrs. and Mesdames Thomas and Donald R. Kyle, Shawnee Mission; Mr. and Mrs. Kirby Peterman, Kansas City, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Kyle, Millbrae, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Larry G. Myers, Americus; and Jeanetta Cochran and Mr. and Mrs. H. Maddock, Wichita.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by one daughter, Alma Kuykendall, whose name was inadvertently omitted from the obituary.
