DIED IN ALABAMA
J Herman Parsons, 89, a former Herrin carpenter died of a heart attack at 7 a.m. Monday at the home of his niece, Mrs. Eline Hightower of Birmingham, Ala.
Mr Parsons, the son of John S. and Mary Parsons was born Dec 2, 1870 in the Herrin area. He leaves brother, Chester Parsons of Herrin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Birmingham West End Baptist Church, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The Rev James H Butler, West End Church pastor will officiate.
