Funeral services for Mr. Eldon Ewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2009 in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverends Emitte Belgard and Mark Breland officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Esler Field Community, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Ewing, age 73, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 30, 2009, at his residence in Esler Field.
He was a native of Manifest, Louisiana. He was a longtime employee of Trailways Bus Lines, retired as a bus driver with the Rapides Parish School Board, and worked for over 18 years as Assistant Director with Rush Funeral Home. His most important part of life was spending time with his family at his camp, hunting, fishing, cooking and sitting around the campfire. He also loved planting and caring for his vegetable garden.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Elaine Ewing of Esler Field Community; two sons, Dewayne Ewing and wife Caresse of Pollock, Raymond Ewing and wife Maxine of Esler Field; two daughters, Margaret Ann Goudeau and husband Freddie of Esler Field, Theresa "DeeDee" Probus and husband Thomas of Esler Field; one brother, Elmer Ewing and wife Eula of Cotile Lake; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Yosha Goudeau, Chris Goudeau, Dwayne Ewing, Jr., Waylon Trahan, Ray Ewing, Justin Ewing. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Lowe, Chris Fitzgerald, Henry Miles and Elmer Ewing.
