NEW ALBANY – Mary Frances Armstrong, 75, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Union County Health and Rehab. She was born June 25, 1937, in Pontotoc County to John and Estelle Wilder. She was a retired homemaker, loving Christian mother and devoted wife. She was a charter member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at United Funeral Service with the Rev. Don McCutchen and the Rev. Ray Hall officiating. Burial will be in Martin Cemetery.

She is survived by a daughter, Michelle Thompson (Joe); two sons, Mike Armstrong (Michelle) and Jimmy Armstrong (Patricia), all of New Albany; one sister, Myzett Roberts of Tupelo; two brothers, Jimmie Wilder of Ecru and Dewitt Wilder of New Albany; four grandsons, Austin Armstrong (Brooke), Justin Armstrong, Brandon Armstrong and Mason Armstrong, all of New Albany; two granddaughters, Emily Garrett (Ben) of Oxford and MacKenzie Armstrong of New Albany; one great-granddaughter, Gracie Garrett of Oxford; a very special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Marion Armstrong of Dime Box, Texas; and a special niece, Joyce Lindsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, William Dean Armstrong; and two sisters, Doris Newsum and Pauline Dowdy.

Pallbearers will be Evan Denton, James McGregor, Jody Lindsey, Tim Wilder, Billy Creel and Johnny Newsum. Honorary pallbearers will be David Haynie, Austin Armstrong, Justin Armstrong, Brandon Armstrong and Mason Armstrong.

Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
