Freddie Geter died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at River Region Medical Center. He was 80.

Mr. Geter was born in Adams County and had lived in Vicksburg since 1958. A truck driver, he worked for Don S. Miller for 27 years, Gipson Petroleum in 1992 and for Waste Management for more than five years.

He was a member of Redbone Methodist Church.

Mr. Geter is survived by his wife, Carol Geter of Vicksburg; four sons, Freddie Lee Geter, Bobby Ray Geter, Alvin Dale Geter and Clifford Aubrey Geter, all of Vicksburg; four daughters, Julie Gail Baswell of Manchester, Tenn., Susan Smith of St. Francisville, La., and Connie Dee Adcock and Elizabeth Grace Stephens, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, Cecil Geter of Vicksburg and William Geter of Woodville; three sisters, Louise McKlemurry and Mary Katherine VanBuren, both of Woodville, and Margaret Ann Murry of Centreville; 22 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Redbone Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Louis Smith Jr., Joshua Baswell, Brian Stephens, Beau Geter, Dustin Lawrence and Ricky Geter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Paul Pierce III, Dr. Paul Pierce IV and Dr. Feras Hamadeh.
