Justen Martinez was a close Family Friend,specifically my Son was very close to Justen and Justen's older brother, more than friends they were like the brother's my son never had. My son was always going to the Martinez household, Vince and Justen were his best bud's they called eachother brothers, they played on 4 wheeler's they loved to do typical boy stuff and in Arkansas it's just the right environment for boys to be boys, they loved to wrestle, and lift weights (even though I thought them to young U know they didn't listen to me lol)
The night Justen died, my son and his brother weren't around my Son finally stayed home on a Friday night and Vince went camping with some other school mates, unusual because they all 3 were always together. I had asked my son to stay home with me and his sister, the Martinez's only lived like 1 mile away if that.
That next morning we got a horrible phone call saying Justen was on life support and he was brain dead, my Son was devastated he couldn't even talk my son was only 14 and so was Justen's Brother Vince, we got to the hospital so my son could say good bye. My son is doing better since this incident sorry to say his brother Vince is not well at all he always blamed himself (my son did too but we saw a therapist) Vince changed drastically, a sweet outgoing kid that now just sits and stares and has no social active skills it's so sad it's like Vincent died with him they were all so young, too young.
Justen had a headache and took his Mom's medicine not knowing that they weren't for headaches he took a few and they weren't aspirin, unfortunately they were Methadone for her fybromylasia a illness she has. The next morning they couldn't wake him up, and it was just too late, my daughter and her friend Kristen had a school girl crush on Justen, they were all in the same grade, Justen was a sweetheart he always had his way of talking to me, he talked about his favorite ice cream and i would tell him my favorite stuff from when I was a kid, he was so well mannered and just a great kid, My Children miss him so much, his mother and brother Vince i am sorry to say are in the worst condition imaginable i really tried to help the family but, to no avail I pray for them daily. jUSTEN IS NOW A ANGEL IN HEAVEN NOW LOOKING ON ALL HIS LOVED ONES, WE LOVE YOU JUSTEN, KEEP SMILING UP THERE IN HEAVEN TIL WE SEE YOU AGAIN BABY BOY!
