Ruby H. Vidas, 78, of Centerville died Monday, April 15, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born July 1, 1923 in Centerville, the daughter of Roy and Myrtle (Allen) Middleton. She married John Vidas Jan. 9, 1943, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville. He preceded her in death Feb. 7, 2002. Survivors include a sister, Donna Armstrong of Macon, Mo.; two brothers, Bob Middleton of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Jack Middleton of Moravia; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceded her in death were her parents; four brothers, Harold Middleton, Lavern Middleton, John Middleton, and Archie Middleton; and three sisters, Seve Kondy, Garnet Lobaugh, and Elaine Kinnamon. She farmed with her husband for many years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:40 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Miller, C.P.P.S. officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be all day Wednesday at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with a scripture service at 6 p.m. A memorial has been established to St. Mary's Catholic Church and contributions may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
