Lloyd W. Gieg
May 5, 1925 - Jan. 6, 2013
Resident of Concord
Lloyd Wendell Gieg, loving husband to Violanda for 65 years, passed away at home, January 6, 2013 with Vi and son Mike at his side. He was 87 years old and a lifelong resident of Contra Costa County, most of that time in Concord.
He was the oldest of four children born to Forrest and Kate Gieg on May 5, 1925. The way to Heaven has been paved by his parents, sister Lorraine, brothers Norman and Freeman, and son Robert, daughter-in-law Renee, and grandson Jason.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Violanda, sons Richard (Diane) and Mike, daughters Linda (Stan) and Dianne (Jeff), many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He loved us all, taught us many things, and will be missed every day.
Services were held Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Oakmont Memorial Park.
The family extends our extreme gratitude to all the hospice workers who cared for Lloyd and assisted all of us to cope and to understand his end of life process. We could not have done this without you. Donations may be made to Professional Health Care at Home Hospice. Please see the oakmontmortuary.com website for more information.
