Maureen Wimpey Rogers, 99 of Screven, Ga. died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in Altamaha Health Center after an extended ilness. The Elijah, Ga. native had lived most of her life in Wayne County, Ga., a life long member of Old Bethel Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was the widow of Kennon "Kent" Everett Rogers and also predeceased by her grandson, Jason Carl Harris and by a great granddaughter, Chrisy Sue Rogers Peavy.
Survivors are 5 daughters and son-in-law, Sylvia Davis of Waycross, Ga., Lawana Ellis of Screven, Ga., Jonette Roberts. Carol Marie and Bill Clayon, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Jeris Diane and Carl Harris of Jesup, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Kitty Rogers of Waycross, Ga., 13 grandchildren,several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be 3 P.M. Friday, January 25, 2013 at Screven City Cemetery with Durwood Miller officiating. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be 1:30to 2:30 P.M.., Friday, January 25, 2013 at the funeral home.
