Mrs. Susanna Bichler Lejeune, 71, a resident of Duquesne for 52 years, died Monday at 6:15 p.m. at her home, 111 Meadow St. The daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Desmer Bichler, she was born on March 18, 1876, in Mifflin Township. Widow of John P. Lejeune, she was a member of St Joseph’s Roman Catholic church, the Christian Mothers of the church, the Catholic Daughters of America, Duquesne Court 71 C.D.A., and the Ladies Catholic Beneficial Assn. Surviving are four sons, Nicholas at home, Phelan of McKeesport, and William and Othmar of Allison Park; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Doyle of Allison Park and Gertrude at home; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lena Helsel of Oklahoma, Okla.; and three brothers, Nicholas Bichler of Erie, Joseph Bichler of Homestead Park, and Jacob Bichler of Homestead. Solemn high mass of requiem will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 23, at the St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, West Mifflin, with the Rev. Charles Fehrenbach officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Duquesne. Friends are being received at her late home. (Duquesne Times, May 22, 1947)
