Graveside services for Johnnie Lee Davis Hicks will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at Brushwood Methodist Church in Cemetery Dubberly. The Reverend Barry Carter will be officiating. Johnnie was born February 15, 1929 in Minden and went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2013.
Johnnie was preceded in death by husband Arnold L. (Red) Hicks of 56 years. Parents Charlie and Laura Davis, brothers Gilbert Davis and Carson Davis, sisters Bertha Glass and Willie May Robinson and grandson Jeremy W. Priest.
Johnnie enjoyed spending time with her family and planting flowers. She always had a smile on her face when she saw flowers that she had planted starting to bloom and always wanted to tell and show everyone. She was a very sweet lady and could always cook a great dinner. She raised several children in the neighborhood thru out the years. She was a really strong woman that fought a great fight and enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be greatly loved and missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her loving family of (2) sons Donald Ray Hicks of Dubberly and Thomas Milton Hicks of Bossier City, (1) daughter Sharon Hicks Priest of Dubberly, brother Edwin Davis and (2) sisters Sue Coile and Jency Griffie, (16) grandchildren, (6) great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be John Hicks, Allen Holland, Chris Spillers, Shaun Hicks, Seth Hicks, and Jacob Hicks.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Hicks, Jason Holland, Tommy Spillers, and Trevor Hicks.
