Wilson R. Law, son of Dr. William Law and Jane (Silverthorn) Law, was born the family home, "Mt. Hope", in Jo Daviess County, Illinois. He was a druggist and owned stores at both Shullsburg, and Darlington, Wisconsin. He married Francis Crane on Jan. 25, 1869, and they had one child, Hal, who passed at about age six. His wife Francis died on May 5, 1886. On August 24, 1887 he married Sarah Jane Thompson, of Shullsburg, WI. They had no children together.
