Funeral services for Elmo Hunter were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 5 at the LDS Church in Oakley, Idaho. Interment was in the Grouse Creek Cemetery in Grouse Creek, Utah. Hunter, 75, of 213 Locust Street, Rock Springs, died at about 4 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1 at his home.

According to Deputy Sweetwater County Coroner Dale S. Majhanovich, Hunter, a resident of Rock Springs for the past two years and former resident of Oakley, Idaho, had been in ill health the past two months and died of natural causes.

He was born in Oakley, Idaho Oct. 3, 1910, the son of the late Edward and Dorcas Jeanette Severe Hunter. He attended school in Oakley and was a graduate of the Oakley High School.

Hunter was a retired custodian, having worked for the Hayward School District. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. William C. (Jean) Hall of Rock Springs; two brothers, Leonard Hunter of Nampa, Idaho and Ralph Hunter of Farmington, Utah; two sisters, Ruth Day of Fullerton, Calif. and Kerma Critchfield of Rock Springs; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
