Funeral services for Violet E. Shatto, 87, of 5440 Spring Road, Shermans Dale, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Boyer Funeral Home, 101 W. Main St., New Bloomfield.
She died Friday, March 30, 2001 in Carlisle Hospital.
Born Feb. 18, 1914 in Shermans Dale, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margarette Adams Souder and the widow of Richard S. Shatto, who died in 1990.
She was a member of Shermans Dale United Methodist Church and the ladies' auxillaries of the Shermans Dale Fire Co. and Ambulance Club.
Mrs. Shatto is survived by two sons, Richard E. Shatto and Donald L. "Short" Shatto; two daughters, Lousie Bentsel and Dorothy "Dort" Morrison, and two brothers, William and Robert Souder, all of Shermans Dale; a sister, Helen Fenicle of Hershey; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daugher, Connie Shatto, who died in 1964.
The Rev. N. Jefferson Brewster will officiate at services. Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Garden, North Middleton Township.
