Whitt was a drover from Rutherford Co., NC He met Mary Whitaker while passing through Fairview. They married on Febuary 16, 1854. E (Eldad) Reed was the J.P. R.B. Vance Marriage Certificate #210. Mary & Whitt moved to Rutherford Co. and had a family of eleven children. Whitt died in 1870 and Mary and her children moved back to Fairview. Whittington is buried in Bills Creek Cemetery, Rutherford Co.
