The funeral of Newton Grover was held Tuesday afternoon at the M. E. Church, the Rev. Anderson of Chicago and the Rev. Ross, pastor of the M. E. Church officiating. Interment was made in the Little Indian Creek Cemetery. Mr. Grover was born at Big Grove, IL, November 10, 1848, and was 79 years, one month and in 8 days of age (December 18, 1927). He is survived by a wife, four sons, Henry Grover, of Sandwich; William, of Chicago; Martin, of Leland, and Amos, of Dixon: also two daughters, Mrs. Belle Baker, of Pasadena, CA, and Mrs. Birdie Mortensen, of Milwaukee, WI, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Amundsen, of Leland, and several grandchildren.

Newton Grover, one of our best known and respected citizens died at his home in Leland last Sunday after a long illness. The deceased had been a resident of Adams township for 75 years, and leaves may life long friends who will be grived to learn of his death. The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at the M. E. church, Rev. J. T. Anderson, of Chicago, had charge of the service, assisted by Rev. David Ross, of the Leland M. E. church, Rev. Anderson was paster of the Leland Norwegian M. E. church about 30 years ago. Mrs. L. J. Stahl sang two very beautiful numbers at the services. The interment was made in the Little Indian Creek cemetery south of Leland.
