She is evidently the [orphaned] Elizabeth PRANGLIN, aged 12 years and born in Georgia, in the 1860 census household of Mr. & Mrs. S. T. AUSTIN, with their children and Miss T. PERKINS (aged 25 years), at the same place.
Miss A. E. "Lizzie" PRANGLIN was married 24 JUN 1868 in Putnam County, Georgia, by A. W. MARSHALL, Minister of the Gospel, to Col. A. H. COATES.
On the 1870 census, Alfred H. COATES (aged 46 years, born in Georgia, a merchant of general retail goods) & Lizzie COATES (22 GA), with Alfred P. COATES (1 month, born in May in GA) are boarding in a hotel located in a part of Putnam County, Georgia, served by the Eatonton Post Office. [Note, howeser, that her son Alfred H. COATES is said to be born 1872 on his death certificate, and he is appears aged 8 years on the 1880 census).
The 1880 census of Frio County, Texas, shows: John A. PRANGLIN (aged 30 years, born in Georgia, father in England, mother in South Carolina; county clerk), with wife Julia E. (20 MS OH IN) & son John L. (1 TX MS OH [sic]) & Bessie C. (7 months, born in Oct. TX MS OH [sic]; also John A.'s sister Annie E. COATS (32 GA Eng SC, school teacher) an evidently her two children, Alfred H. (8 GA GA GA) & Almarine (female, 6 GA GA GA).
Daughter Almarine COATES married 28 JUN 1894 in Frio County, Texas, to Ernest P. MANEY, with whom she appears on the 1900 and 1910 censuses of that county.
