Alice Monte Cook, our beloved wife and mother, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 17, 2007. Alice is survived by her husband of 52 years, Earl Cook, her children, Gina Burkhalter and her husband, Mark, Gemma Hermina and her husband, Wahid, Jim Cook and his wife, Julie, Josephine Flynn and her husband, Gregg Flynn, grandchildren, Vanessa, Abbi, Ashley and Kammi Cook, Natalie, Sam and Olivia Burkhalter, Christie and Libby Hermina and Ellie and Emily Cook, her sisters, Mary Vaio and Mildred Monte, and sisters-in-law, Gloria Monte and Peggy Monte and many loving nieces and nephews and special friends. Alice was preceded in death by her children, Mark and Suzy, her parents and brothers and sisters. Alice was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed. Alice enjoyed cooking for family and friends, playing bridge, and spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored. Alice was a longtime member of Annunciation Catholic Church. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE on Sunday, September 23, 2007 from 4:30 p.m. until Rosary at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2532 Vermont NE, on Monday, September 24, 2007 at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gregg Poteet, Mike Sei, John Monte, Larry Monte Jr., Jeff Monte and Dan Monte. Memorial contributions may be made to Casa Angelica, 5629 Isleta Blvd. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.
