Joe Williams Fatally Injured. In Utah Mishap

John Joseph Williams, brother of Matt Williams of Mojave, was instantly killed last Saturday near. St. George, Utah when hit by a truck as he was crossing the highway.
He and Umberto Cappello were reported as having gone deer hunting. The car ran out of gas and as Joe crossed the highway in search of gasoline, was hit and fatally injured.
He was born August 10, 1917 in Grove Springs, Mo, and is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Williams of Hartville, Mo. Also surviving are 5 brothers, Matt, of Mojave; Chese of Kansas; Lemuel of Tulsa, Okla.; Neb of Sawtelle and David of Albany, Calif.; 4 sisters, Mrs. Bill Longman of Sweet Grass, Mont.; Mrs. W. A. Bohannan, Star, Idaho; Mrs. Floyd Vestal, Lebannon. Mo.; and Mrs. Merle Clark of Bellflower, California.
Services will be held today (Thursday) in the Community Congregational Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. James C. Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Mojave District Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
