Loretta Mae Black Cunningham, 75 of Portsmouth went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 1, 2013. She was born December 1, 1937 to the late Frank and Britain Cooper. Loretta was a homemaker, and loving wife, mother and grandmother and also a long time member of Pond Run Baptist Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers; Wayne and Philip Cooper, and her first husband; Elbert D. Black.

Loretta is survived by her loving husband and friend; two daughters, three grandsons; three great grandchildren who were three of the greatest joys of her life, two brothers; two sisters.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday January 4, 2013 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Jeremiah Lewis officiating and interment in Moore's Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00am until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice in Loretta's name.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at SOMC Hospice for their help and support during her illness, especially her nurse Diane Osborne who has come to mean so much to this family.
