Kenneth Russell 'Red' Thomas was born in Beckley, West Virginia on February 13, 1914, the second son and youngest child of James Granville and Lena Mae Hays Thomas. He grew to manhood in West Virginia, eventually joining the "SeaBees," serving his country during World War II. He was married to Lena Marie Bankston, and they settled and lived in California for the duration of their lives. Red passed from this world on June 4, 1990.
