His obituary states he was buried at Mount Tabor Cemetery, and according to daughter Janie, she used to visit her father's gravesite in the 1930s and 1940s, prior to her relocation to California.
Extensive searches have not turned up the exact location of his grave, but the family remains under the belief that he is indeed buried at Mount Tabor with the rest of his family.
Family documentation states his grave "is about half way out on the right of the walkway from the gate. Zelma's little girl [May Joe] is buried next to him."
* Note - In trying to research the records for Mount Tabor and Calfee cemeteries in 2004, it was discovered that the church cemetery was open ground with no fee for burial and for many years people were allowed to go in and pretty much dig and plant at will ... which contributed to an awful lot of unmarked graves. There are numerous stones, many homemade and illegible. The church and the historical society have compiled a list of named graves, those they have found in other records or have been told of but don't know the grave location, and written down any portion of the stones which can be read. Calfee has had the funeral home since 1935, and the older records burned years ago. Calfee, which owns one section, also took over the church section several years ago and they are making every attempt to see that records are kept and graves marked.
