Rose Pitzer, 80, Mandan, died Sept. 10, 2002, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Patrick Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.

Rose was born Aug. 22, 1922, in Morton County to Alex and Elizabeth (Matz) Boehm. She was raised and educated in rural Morton County. Rose worked for Boeing during World War II before her marriage. On Sept. 24, 1946, she married Leonard Pitzer in Mandan.

She was a member of the Eagles Club, Catholic Daughters of America and the Bismarck-Mandan Association for the Handicapped. Rose also volunteered for many Mandan organizations during her life.

Rose's hobbies included camping, fishing, traveling, bowling, quilting, crocheting and making crafts.

Rose is survived by one son, Ronald Pitzer, Mandan; one daughter, Sylvia Pitzer, Mandan; four brothers and their wives, Clem and Lucille Boehm, Frank and Angie Boehm, Philip and Cecelia Boehm and Gene and Vivian Boehm, all of Mandan; one sister, Lottie Pitzer, Mandan; five sisters-in-law, Irene Boehm, Billings, Mont., Katherine Mosbrucker, Alice Boehm and Lorraine Boehm, all of Mandan, and Lucille Ressler, Bismarck; one brother-in-law, Julius and his wife Dorothy Beehler; and many nieces and nephews.

Her husband; her parents; three brothers, Joe, Mike and Tom; two sisters, Mary Suchy and Angie Beehler; and three brothers-in-law, Richard and Robert Pitzer and Don Suchy, preceded her in death.
