"Madison, Neb., Feb. 16. -Special to The News:

Funeral services were held here this afternoon for Mrs. Agnes J. Sterner, widow of W.D. Sterner, late of this city, who died at Hastings Wednesday of old age and complication. She was making her home at the time of her death with William R. Sterner, a son. Services were held at the Presbyterian church, with the Rev. Mr. Wimberly, pastor, officiating, after which burial was made in Crownhill cemetery. She was born Jan. 15, 1857 (sic, 1841; she married in 1857), and came to Madison county in 1884 and since 1893, until the death of her husband, Sept. 27, 1921, she made her home in this city.


She is survived by two sons, Adelbert C. Sterner (sic. Adel Gilbert) of Madison and William R. Sterner, Hastings, and four daughters, Mrs. William R. Martin of Enola, Mrs. Rose Anderson, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Ida M. Brannian of New York City, and Mrs. Edith M. Scalp (sic, Scalph) of Madison."
