"Mrs. Lulu Fellows Ewing died Wednesday, March 21 at her residence in Hillsdale. Two weeks ago she was afflicted with an attack of measles. Complications set in overtaxing her strength causing mental derangements. She was unconscious as to her surroundings for several days prior to her death.
Mrs. Lulu Fellows Ewing was born 26 December 1873 at the time of her death she was 35 years 3 months and 5 days old. She was united in marriage with Arthur M. Ewing January 12, 1897. To this union 2 daughters and 3 sons were born, the oldest girl, 11 years old and the youngest a baby 1 year old.
She was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fellows of Unionville, one brother survives her in addition to her father and mother.
Mrs. Ewing was of a loving and self sacrificing disposition ever ready to do what willing hands could do for her little family who is left devoid of wife and mother so much needed in the home. She was of the Methodist faith and a strong firm believer in prayer. The grief stricken husband and children, the sorrowing father, mother and brother mourn her departed spirit.
The funeral was held from the M.E. church in Hillsdale, thence to Lyndon by carriage where the remains were laid to rest in the Lyndon cemetery April 2nd. Rev. Lundbeck, pastor of the Christian church in Erie officiated.
The contributions of flowers were many and wonderful."
Found in a book of obituaries of people buried in Lyndon cemetery at Odell Public Library, Morrison, Illinois.
