He was born in Louisa County, May 1, 1927, to Ferdinand Broeker and Florence Mumm (sic) Broeker. He married Darlene Richardson in Burlington June 8, 1947.
He was a retired West Burlington Fire Fighter after 20 years of service and was an employee of the Burlington Waterworks. He was a member of the West Burlington Christian Church, the American Legion Post #52, and a past member of the West Burlington School Board. He was also a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving: His wife, West Burlington; two daughters, Mrs. Lana Sherwood, West Burlington, Mrs. Linda Wingstrom, Silt, California; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Bozarth, New London, Mrs. Frances Schwartz, Winfield; seven grandchildren.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, Christian Church, West Burlington, Len Camp and Mike McElway; Greenwood Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the West Burlington Christian Church.
