JESSIE NOTT DIES
Jessie Alma Williams Nott, 84, died Sunday, March 17, 1996, at the Morris County Hospital.
She was born January 20, 1912, in the South Bend Community, daughter of Amos and Lillie Hylton Burnett.
She was a member of the Council Grove United Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Nott attended South Bend Rural School, two years at Plainsville, and Richie Grade School, and was graduated from the Four Mile School.
Her marriage to Neil Dale Williams was December 11, 1930. He died March 8, 1965. She married Gaylord Nott May 4, 1985. He survives.
She was preceded in death also by a daughter, Helen Williams, and a granddaughter, Joyce Metcalfe.
Survivors include two sons, Dale E. Williams and his wife Elie, Council Grove, and Bill Nott and his wife Connie, Milwaukee, Wis; four daughters, Lucille Litke and her husband Don, Council Grove, Karen Metcalfe and her husband August, Dunlap, Wanda Hedgespeth and her husband Ralph, Dunlap, and Darlene Jones and her husband Darrell, Webb City, MO.; two sisters, Alice Page, Council Grove, and Doris Garrett, Wichita; three brothers, Linus Burnett, Council Grove, and Kenneth Burnett and Shorty Burnett, both of Wilsey; three sisters-in-law; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Council Grove United Methodist Church, with burial to be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Nott will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Kendall Funeral Chapel, where family and friends will meet from 7:00 until 8:30 that night.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association.
