YORKTOWN — John Borowski Jr., 51, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000. Born in Williamsburg, he was a lifelong resident of York County. Mr. Borowski was a graduate of York High School and worked in the maintenance department of the George Washington Inn. He was a charter member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his father, John Borowski Sr., and a brother, Robert Stanley Borowski. A funeral Mass was held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Yorktown, with Father Don Michael Hanna officiating. There was a reception following the Mass in the church. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 753 Thimble Shoals Blvd., Newport News, VA 23606, or to the American Cancer Society, 895 Middle Ground Blvd., Suite 154, Newport News, VA 23606.
