YORKTOWN - John Borowski Sr., 70, died Friday, Jan. 13, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Hampton. He was a lifelong Yorktown resident. He retired from NASA in 1979 after 35 years. He worked for Klate-Holt Corporation for five years. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. A mass was celebrated at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church by the Rev. Charles M. Fisher. Burial was at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family received friends following the mass in the church social hall. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society. Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, was in charge.
