Bob Blair

Bob Blair, son of the late John Turner Blair and Myrtle Mae Lynch Blair, was born June 15, 1935, in Henderson, Tenn., and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo., on Dec. 5, 2012, at the age of 77.

Mr. Blair was a member of the New Hope General Baptist Church near Essex, a retired farmer and a resident of rural Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Jean Mayberry on Jan. 30, 1955, at Essex. Mrs. Blair survives at their Dexter home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Bobby Blair, Jr., and his wife, Jane, of Essex, Terry Blair, and his wife, Karen, of Essex, and Jeff Blair, and his wife, Melissa, of Dexter; two brothers, Kermit Blair of Essex and J.C. Blair of Vallejo, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Eric Blair, Tina Porter, Melissa Hitt, Heather Blair, Jessica Blair, Lauren Blair, and Carson Blair; and three great-grandchildren, Beau Hunter Blair, Hayden Hitt, and Kyndall Hitt.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Blair and A. L. Blair; and two sisters, Connie Beck and Linnie Rowland.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Josh Carpenter and Rev. Steve Tippen officiating.

Interment will follow at the Taylor Cemetery in rural Essex.

The family requests memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 9370 Olive Boulevard, St. Louis, Mo. 63132-3253. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
