Helen Louise Adams Hicks, 77, of Caruthersville, died May 24, 1990 at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital. Born July 31, 1912 in Metropolis, Ill., she was the daughter of Henry and Clara Adams. She was the widow of Jodie Clemmons Hicks. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Jean Hicks, a son, Buddie C. Hicks, two sisters and three brothers. She was a member of Mary's Chapel Baptist Church in Huffman, Ark. She was a former Huffman resident.
She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Joyce Sands of Caruthersville, Mrs. Willine Welch of San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Helen Shaver of Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas; one son, Danny Hicks of Orange, Calif.; three brothers, Ed Adams of Caruthersville, Raymond Adams of Vacaville, Calif., and J.D. Adams of Redlands, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services were May 26 at 2 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville, the Rev. John Stepp officiating, with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Keith Howren, Carl and Clyde Hicks, Jeff Jackson, Mike Cole, and William Smith.
