Remsen, Iowa - Larry A. Haack, 63, of Remsen died unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen, with the Rev. James Gruber of Peace Lutheran Church in Marcus, Iowa, officiating. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery, Marcus. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Haack was born Nov. 28, 1936, in rural Remsen, the son of Clarence and Irma (Hanno) Haack. He was raised in the Remsen area and attended rural schools until the eighth grade. He graduated in 1955 from Remsen Public High School. He then farmed with his father. He served in the Army National Guard in Cherokee from 1958 to 1964.

He married Connie Frangenberg Dec. 20, 1958, in Marcus. The couple made their home on the Haack family farm near Remsen.

He enjoyed playing cards.

Survivors include his wife, three children and their spouses, Kirk and Denise Haack of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Lisa (Haack) and James Mayer of Marcus, and Roger and Bonnie Haack of Sioux Falls, S.D.; five grandchildren, Gregory, Lindsay and Adrianna Haack and Bridget and Ben Mayer; a sister and her husband, LaVonne and Clifford Tonsfeldt of Remsen; and a brother and his wife, Milton and Movylene of Remsen.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Kirk, Denise, Roger and Bonnie Haack and Lisa and James Mayer.
