Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer (Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois), Friday, September 9, 1960:
   Douglas McKinney Hadley, 72, of Arlington, Va., a former Edwardsville resident, died early Friday morning in Arlington.
   The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.F.L. Hadley of 708 St. Louis St. here, the deceased received his education in the Edwardsville schools, Western Military Academy at Alton and Cumberland University, Williamsburg, Ky., where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.
   Mr. Hadley, who was retired from the General Accounting offices in Washington, D.C., served in both World Wars and in 1941 he served with the rank of major in the United States and overseas. He was also active in the Army Reserves. He was a member of the Episcopal church and Masonic lodge.
   Survivors are his wife, Jarimilla; one son, John Douglas Hadley; a daughter, Miss Mary West Hadley; a brother and three sisters, W. Lester Hadley, Mrs. Ralph D. Griffin, Mrs. Gaius F. Paddock and Mrs. John M. Drescher.
   Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Edwardsville.
