Emery F. Ball 71, rural Plains, was pronounced dead upon arrival by ambulance at Southwest Medical Center Thursday evening. Mr. Ball had been under the care of a physician, but had worked on the farm during the day and became ill during the evening meal.
He was born April 20, 1900 at Groveland, Kansas. He was married to Lorena Lingo at Kismet on November 25, 1926. Mr. and Mrs. Ball moved to a farm eleven miles north of Kismet on 1930 and he had farmed there since that time.
He is survived by his wife; two sons Duane, Plains, and Darryl, Garden City; one daughter, Mrs. Roberts (Donna Marie) Walker, Kismet; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Hassman, McPherson, Mrs. Frank Bane, Little River, and Miss. Eva Ball, Inman; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from the Kismet United Methodist Church by the Rev. C.H. Borchers, pastor, and the Rev. Jerald Hooley, pastor of the plains United Methodist church.
Burial will be in the Kismet Cemetery under the direction of Miller Mortuary.
