SHEROD T. CHANDLER
Hemingway - Sherod Thomas Chandler, 53, farmer and logging contractor, died from injuries received in a logging accident Tuesday in Andrews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Hemingway. Burial will be in Union Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Chandler was born near here, son of the late George F. Chandler and Leila Davis Chandler. He was graduated from Union High School and served in World War II. He was a member of Union Methodist Church and a member of Black River Hunting Club.
Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Betty Watts Chandler; a daughter, Miss Gwendolyn Chandler of Charlotte, N. C.; two sons, Sherod Thomas Chandler, Jr. of Kingstree and Barry Chandler of Hemingway; five sisters, Mrs. Ethelyn Bryant of Marion, Mrs. George Breault of New Port News, Va., Mrs Henry Alford of Gresham and Mrs Clarence P. Snowden, Jr. of Charleston; two brothers, G. Harold Chandler and Fred Davis (Doc) Chandler, both of Hemingway.
