Emil Boman, son of John A. and Louisa Boman was born November 28, 1884, and died March 4, 1972, at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 5 days. All but eight years of his life were spent in the Scandia community. He was a retired farmer. He was married to Pearl McDowell on October 21, 1908. To this union nine children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife, two daughters, Evelyn and Marguerite, his parents, two sisters and one brother. Those surviving are his children; Edwin of Lincoln, Neb., Fred of Belleville, Louise of Canoga Park, Calif., Neva of Longmont, Colo., Marie of Stafford, Mo., Godfrey of Scandia, and Charles of Lincoln, Neb., 25 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Mrs. Mabel Boman, two nephews, Paul and Wallace Boman. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 7, 1972 at the United Methodist Church, Scandia, with the Reverend Lyle Miller officiation. Interment was in Union Valley Cemetery.
