WALTER HERBERT BOMAN
Walter Herbert Boman, son of John and Louise Boman was born near Scandia on April 4, 1893, and departed this life at his home east of Scandia on January 27, 1960 at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 23 days.
He was united in marriage to Mabel Nelson on October 8, 1913. To this union two sons were born: Paul and Wallace.
He has always been engaged in farming, living on the same farm his entire life. He attended school at the Poplar Grove district school.
At an early age he joined the Methodist church in Scandia, taking part in many activities of the church, and was a faithful member as long as his health permitted. He has been in failing health for the past one and one-half years.
He was a loving husband and good father, loved his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Boman, two sisters, Edith Olson and Minnie Boman, one nephew.
He leaves to mourn his untimely departure, his wife, Mabel, two sons, Paul W. of the home and Wallace H. of Republic, one daughter-in-law, Vida, one brother, Emil of Scandia, seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 31, 1960 at 2:30 pm from the Methodist church in Scandia with the Rev. Ford Miller officiating. Interment was in Riverview cemetery of Scandia. Arrangements were in charge of Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Home of Scandia.
