The family was living near Quincy, Illinois in 1857. Ebenezer traveled about the county in a covered wagon in a effort to improve his health. At the time of the 1870 Federal census the family was living in Black Oak Twp., Mahaska co., Iowa. [p.o. Pella]. Later settling at Hopeville, near Murray, Clarke co., Iowa, on a farm. In 1880 they were living at Sand Creek, Union Co., Iowa. Ebenezer d. around 1885 and place of burial is [said to be] a cemetery at Lorimor, n.e. cornor of Union co., Iowa.
