Erton "Whitey" Brawley, 32, a resident of Cosmopolis for the past 13 years and a log trucking contractor, died today at St. Joseph Hospital in Aberdeen. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday at Elerding Funeral Home with Rev. William McDowell officiating. Burial will be in Fern Hill Cemetery. He operated two log trucks and hauled logs for Picco and Hobi Company. He was born on September 17, 1906 in Green Forest, Arkansas to William Lee and Nora Adeline (Tharp) Brawley. He married Margaret Ann Walczak on June 20, 1929 in Montesano. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his daughter, Alveda Ann; his father; his brothers, Cecil Austin Brawley, Hugh Paul Brawley, James Jefferson Brawley, and William Dee Brawley; his sister, Myrtle Jane O'Neal; his half brothers, Charles Brawley, John Harris Brawley, Warren Brawley, and Wilbur Raney Brawley; and his half sister, Juanita Brawley.
