Christine Roberts Burse, 82, a loving mother and grandmother and owner of Magic Star Car Wash, became precious in the sight of the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Pilgrim Valley Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. Maverick Gayden, host pastor, and the Rev. James C. Brown, officiating. Interment: Cedar Hill. Visitation: 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at Baker Funeral Home. Family hour: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Sweethome Baptist Church, 5225 E. Ramey St. Christine was born April 18, 1930, in Ennis. She retired from Bickel and Brewer law firm. Her husband, James L. "Jackie" Burse, transitioned from this life in 2010. Survivors: Sons, Joel LaRay Briscoe and Darryl Wayne Brewer; daughters, Barbara Briscoe Williams and Patricia Gail Burse; sisters, Helen Jenkins, Reather Barrett and Margarette Knox; grandchildren, Derrick J. Helms, Tivoli J. Williams, Demond W. Williams, Robert M. Brewer, Christina Brewer, Lewis James Jackson, Kymonique Kindred, Latoi Belvin, Cherie L. Briscoe and Charone L. Briscoe; other relatives and loving friends.
