∼James Laverne Burse was known as "Jack", "Jackie" or "Jackie B." He was born October 22, 1934 to the parentage of James Rommie and Sadie Ross Burse of Fort Worth, Texas. He grew up in Riverside and attened Our Mother Mercy Catholic School.
He worked at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium as a Bartender for the law firm Bickel & Brewer. He also catered for private parties, and barbequing was his specialty. He was called a "Jack of all trades." He also worked at the Petroleum Club and in 1999 he retired from the Southwestern Petroleum Company.
On December 26, 1965, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Christine Roberts. To this union, one child was born, Patricia Gail.
On Tuesday afternoon, January 26, 2010 the Garden Angel came down from Heaven, visited Harris Hospital Southwest in Fort Worth, and kindly sealed the lips of James (Jack) Burse. His soul took flight to a world not known by man, where there will be no more pain, no more tears shed, and no more sorrow. After 2 years of suffering, he fought a good fight and Jack finished his course.
He leaves to cherish his memory; His beloved wife, Christine Roberts-Burse; daughter, Patricia G. Burse (fiancee, Lee Taylor); step-children, Barbara Briscoe-Williams, Joel Briscoe, and Darryl Brewer; grandchildren, Lewis James Jackson, Derrick Helms, Tivoli Williams, Demond Williams, Ky Monique Kindred, Cherie Briscoe, Cherone Briscoe, Latoya Delvin, Robert Brewer, and Christina Brewer; ten great grand children; and a host of other relatives and friends.
