Gertrude H. Bergener, 88, of Beaver, went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2012, with her daughter at her side.
Born May 26, 1924, in Coraopolis, PA, she was a daughter of the late Adolph and Julianna Judt Unger. She retired as an RN, having worked for St. Joe Lead and also had formerly worked at Friendship Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bergner; two sons, David and Thomas Carcaise; three sisters, Dorothy Kramer, Theresa Copeland, and Josephine Martino, and a brother, Joseph Unger.
Surviving are two daughters, Gina Marie Carcaise, Rochester; Gretchen Bradford, Brighton Township, and son-in-law, Christopher Bradford; five grandchildren, Jocelyn Bradford, Emily Bradford, Rachel Carcaise, Brittany Bradford, Kayla Bradford; one great-granddaughter, Julianna Carcaise, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She had an open heart and loved unconditionally. She will be missed dearly by those who knew her.
We knew that morning God was calling your name. In Life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, You did not go alone. For part of us went with you The day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you, You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, But God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.
As per her wishes, cremation services took place. Arrangements are being conducted by the NOLL FUNERAL HOME INC, 333 Third Street, Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com
Private interment will take place at a later date at Beaver Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree Road, Suite 230, Wexford, PA 15090.
