Vincent G. Reinkober, 78, 411 Park Street, Chilton, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 1986, at his home, following a brief illness.

He was born July 20, 1908, in Chilton, son of the late John and Bertha Boll Reinkober. He graduated from Chilton High School and attended the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana.

On June 23, 1932, he married Edna Schomisch at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Marinette. Mr. Reinkober was manager of the family owned and operated Chilton Bottling Company from 1932 until his retirement in 1974.
He was also very active in several business, civic and religious and fraternal organizations.

His business affiliations included the Wisconsin Bottlers of Carbonated Beverages, for which he served as president and legislative Chairman, the Chilton Chamber of Commerce, for which he served as president, he also received Chilton’s Citizen of the Year Award from the Chamber in 1960.

He was Chairman of the Chilton Water Commission for many years, chairman of the Recreation Commission, the Chilton Bicentennial Commission in 1976, and was co-chairman for the fund drive that established Calumet Memorial Hospital.

He was a Third Degree Knight of Columbus of the Calumet Council No. 2556 and served at Grand Knight. He was also a Fourth Degree Knight of the Allouez Assembly and served as Knights of Columbus District Deputy. In addition he received the Doctor Henni’s Services Award from the Knights of Columbus State Council. He served on the Bishop’s Charities Game Committee, and received the distinguished service award in 1968.

Survivors include his wife; nine children; James and Helen Reinkober, Kenosha; Robert and Donna Reinkober, Minneapolis; Mrs. Jerome (Barbara) Smits, De Pere; Mrs. Patrick (Carole) Wood, Green Bay; Mrs. Burton (Mary) Bostwick, Arlington, Virginia; Colonel Thomas and Parmela Reinkober, Annandale, Virginia; Paul and Dayle Reinkober, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mrs. LeRoy (Kathryn) Vissers, De Pere; Mark and Anna Reinkober, De Pere; 21 grandchildren; and a brother, John Reinkober, Chilton.

Two sisters preceded him in death, Helen O’Donnell and Bernadine Reinkober, both of Chilton.

The funeral Mass was at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Paul Brick, pastor, was celebrant. Burial was in the parish Cemetery.
