Josephine Weir Hadley, 79, Rockford, a former Edwardsville resident of 40 years, died at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday in Rockford Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for a week.
Mrs. Hadley was born Sept. 29, 1890, in Edwardsville, the daughter of the late Dr. Edward and Frances Terry Weir.
She was married to Douglas Hadley of Edwardsville. He preceeded her in death in 1963.
She is survived by a son, John Douglas Hadley of Alton, and a daughter, Miss Mary West Hadley of Rockford. One brother and four sisters preceded her in death.
There will be no visitation for Mrs. Hadley, who was a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church of Edwardsville.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Woodlawn Memorial Chapel of Edwardsville with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family has asked that memorials be made to St. John's United Methodist Church or the Woodlawn Memorial Chapel fund.
