Arnold Anthony Bruck, age 93, of Remington, Indiana peacefully went home to be with our Lord at 6:34 pm on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana after a short illness.
Arnold was born November 13, 1919 in Lake Village, Indiana and was the son of Antone and Dora (Christensen) Bruck.
He proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army infantry in Italy and North Africa. He served as a combat radio man among other duties.
His marriage of 62 years was to Ruth W. Wickman of Schneider, Indiana on September 27, 1941. Arnold was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, who went home to be with the Lord on May 15, 2004, daughter Linda Lou, brother Lyle and granddaughter Jennifer Ashley.
Arnold worked as a foreman at a Gary, Indiana steel mill for a number of years, then returned to his love of farming and made it his chosen profession for much of his life. Arnold then worked as manager of the parts department of Overmyer Farms, Inc. of Wolcott, Indiana until his retirement.
He loved and served the Lord ad was a member of Faith Christian Tabernacle of Rensselaer, Indiana. In the past, Arnold enjoyed hunting, raising hunting dogs and participating in many hunting competitions. He was an avid bee keeper for most of his life and was well known locally for his honey. He enjoyed sharing his love of bee keeping and taught and advised new bee keepers in the craft. Arnold passed his knowledge and the family tradition of bee keeping on to his son-in-law Jim, and he continues it today.
Arnold leaves behind a daughter, Faith Stewart, husband Jim, a daughter, Lee Onna Bruck, and a son, Anthony Bruck, wife Karol, all of Remington. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Pat Stark, wife Robyn, of Remington, Amanda Rusk of Lafayette, Lindsey Rusk of Remington, Jonathon Rusk of Indianapolis, and Jessica Lane, husband Frank, of Wolcott. Two great-grandchildren, Payton Stark and Ella Lear, both of Remington, with his third great grandchild expected in January, 2013. He is also survived by one brother, Darrel Bruck and a sister-in-law, Carol Bruck, both of Momence, Illinois, and nieces and nephews.
